Would Someone Please Tell Me Why

the "TOREADOR" song from the Opera "Carmen" is going through my head? No, I haven't seen or heard the Opera in years nor have I been thinking about it. I've tried to replace it with another song but the only two songs I can think of right now are POP GOES THE WEASEL and THE WHEELS ON THE BUS GO ROUND AND ROUND, and those two AREN'T helping.

There's a commercial for one of the satellite dish companies using the music. Have you seen it?

I can't tell you why it's stuck in your head, but I can be incredibly mad at you for getting it stuck in my head now. Maybe that's the way it works though- you can only get it out of your head once you've passed it on to someone else.

Nope, I haven't seen that. I hope I don't or I'll NEVER get it out of my head.

I find the organ intro from "Whiter Shade of Pale" an excellent replacement song -- lovely, calming... and no lyrics to annoy you. Try that one for awhile...

I'm not sure how that goes...can you hum a few bars?

The song that I always find stuck in my head is "If I only had a brain" from Wizard of Oz. That has to be WAY more annoying! (no comments about why that song in particular....lets just say I have a lot of blond moments)

I would say that commercial, I seen it too. Very ummm...sticky to the brain.

Usually when I have a song in my head, I try & sing it really loud, because then I realize how great it feels to sing, and I could spruce up the song a bit to make it sound better, and then, before you know it, You'll be singing a different song that won't bother you so much, OR
Someone is telling you to stop singing.
That's what I do...It woooorks!

Trouble is, I can't remember ANY of WHITER SHADE OF PALE right now.

With me, it's the theme song from the Flintstones! Da-da, da-da-da...
I even checked out a Spanish version video from the library once, as I wanted to hear the theme song in Spanish...and all they had was the intrumental! Dang!

If it's not that, it's usually something of Weird Al's (I love "Amish Paradise" or the Bloodhound Gang (something that it funny, in an "adult" way lyrics).
