Took Nya in to work with me for a lion cut today. My apartment has been rediculously hot (32 degrees celcius in the evening on the hot days), and with no end to the heat in sight (it's only going to get worse!) I figured this was the most humane thing for her. Well, after she gets over the initial humiliation that is.

In the car on the way in (totally unsuspecting, I feel kinda bad):

On the table:
]

I hate you mummy:

Bath time! (Look how tiny she is!)

Time alone in the crate to dry

I really really hate you mummy:

All done! She spent the rest of the day in the store with me, hiding in shame.

Seriously mum, how can a proper cat hold her head high when she looks like THIS?!

I can't believe you did this to me.

The homecoming. Buddy wonders what the heck happened!

I'm serious. Don't look at me.

more coming...

And just some random shots of her, so you can see the cut properly. I am in LOVE with her markings, I never knew she had markings like that with all her fur!
]
(look how LITTLE she is!)

She's alright now, settling in okay, and Buddy's accepted her
She'll be much more comfortable! Hope you enjoyed!

Those looks of disgust she gave the camera...ouch!
I hope she has gotten used to her new look, and is enjoying being cooler.

Any idea how long it takes for the fur to grow back?

I am seriously considering having this done for my Sid. What with the heat and her shedding, it is driving the both of us crazy.

Interesting to see that they do not shave the lower part of the legs.

Ferris' appointment is the 19th. I'm looking forward to it - but he'll hate me, LOL...she's ADORABLE with her new "do."

It will grow back in about 2.5 to 3 months, I have a maine coon that I have to do the same thing to, she was a rescue kitty and would not let me brush her out in when I first got her.

Poor girl! She looks tiny in that pic in the bath! She's still beautiful though.

They are such an awesome set of pics!!!!

She looks soooo peeved and embarrassed all at the same time! I love the first pic of her and Buddy - it's like she's saying "no, don't come near me, I'm hideous!"

She's so cute though with her lion cut and I'm sure she'll appreciate it once she gets over losing all her fur

Thanks for the replies everyone! I think she's getting used to her fur missing, and she did snuggle with us all night, so she can't hate me THAT much anymore! I have to say though, I loved it at first, but every now and then I'll glance at her and think "Oh my goodness what did I DO to my Nya?!" She looks so sad!

I can't wait to see how it looks as it's growing back in!

Oh she'll forgive you for sure! Nya was so pissed last night when we got home, but by bedtime she was snuggling and this morning she was climbing all over me purring, back to her normal self, so I don't feel so bad anymore!

I'm working the 25th, so I'll get to see Lucky's lion cut too! YAY! I'm sure she's going to be ADORABLE! I've seen some terrible lion cuts, but Chris does a really good job
