About a month ago I swith from Nutro's indoor weight management to the regular weight management. Do you think the regular would produce hairballs?

Hairballs all of a sudden

The indoor formula has plant fibers that help prevent the formation of hairballs. It is probably best to go back to the indoor weight management formula.

Both contain plant fibers but the indoor has a bit more of them, used to be alfalfa in the reg but now it is the same veggie fiber mix .... I too suggest going back but IT is HIGH shed season.. how many hairballs??...

Last week it happened 4 days in a row. The week before 3 days. Today was the first one since last Thursday & she has been eating less dry food this week.

try adding a touch of flax , olive or any oil to there wet food

It's also spring and I know that my hairball level always increases in the spring, in spite of the fact that mine are indoor cats. You might have a couple of things going on (food and weather change).
When mine get bad, I mix in some hairball control food with their regular food to get them over the hump.

What does the oil do? I woke up this morning to find a huge mess on the floor. There is a furball and lots of liquid. This time I don't know who made the mess. Would the oil cause this?
I believe the oil is supposed to lubricate everything so it comes out the other end, but some cats' tummies can be sensitive to it.

we're switching back to Nutro Indoor Senior. i also noticed a hairball increase with the regular natural choice senior. they like both so we're just switching back. one of mine sheds a lot, all the time. and he hates to be brushed.
we do anyway, but he doesn't make it easy.
oils didn't work for my cats either. i had the same problem--then they wouldn't eat their wet.
