Great pics! Mike and I are hoping to get a dog when we move out of this teeny tiny apartment next year, but were wondering how a dog-dog would get along with Jedi.

Did you have any problems when the two were first introduced?

Thanks everone!

jeff24girl,
We've only had Pepper for about 3 weeks now, we rescued him at 5 months old, and Bella (the dane) is almost 10 months old, so we haven't had too much time with them together. The first few days were a handful, but every day since then they're better and better together.
After the initial "slow" getting to know each other, they're fine together and both of them cry and whine if we separate them. Too funny. We worry needlessly about Pepper getting hurt since he's outweighed by over 100 lbs but it doesn't take long to see that Pepper is king of the house and that he takes care of himself just fine. Everyone on this site has told me that the kitties always rule the roost in a cat and dog home!

Vikki,
I WISH Bella was in line to use the litter box!! That would be great!
(well minus the XXL clumps there'd be LOL)

I totally agree BigKat! My kitties keep Parker in line, although it's sweet, they never ever use claws on him. He's such a wuss a simple hiss and paw bat are enough. Poor guy, he gets those sometimes and it's not his fault, Poppy will sleep on him and he wakes up, doesn't even know she's there and he scares her so she'll hiss and scare the heck out of him!

I do think it depends on the breed of dog and age of both pets and if they have prior knowledge of the other species and how that all went.
