As I was getting ready for work this morning, I noticed Pipsqueek dashing for the litter box several times. So I started watching. He would sit there in the "pee position" for about a minute. When he left, there were only a few drops. He went pee at least 10 times in 30 minutes.

He's eating and drinking as normal, clear bright eyes, dehydration test was normal. His vet is squeezing him in tonight at 6PM. Hopefully its just a UTI. (Do cats get UTI's?)

Good thinking on your part to get him to the vet. Early detection will help.

Aww, it sounds like a UTI to me as well. Sending lots of good vibes out hoping for the best.

After being poked and prodded and squeezed and violated, they finally got some urine from him. Very red urine. So they took an x-ray. Poor baby has stones in his bladder. Large enough to see on the x-ray. His brother needs the acid in his urine to avoid stones, Pipsqueek formed the stones because his urine is acidic. (PH of 6) They gave him some fluids sub-q to try to flush his bladder. The doctor felt she may have irritated it when she was trying to squeeze out some urine.

So he is now on 2 medications, plus a special diet to try to reduce the acidity in his urine and allow the stones to dissolve. He is in isolation so I can give him special food, give him his pills and monitor his urine. As of this morning, he either found somewhere in the room to pee, or he hasn't peed cause the litter was dry. But when I felt for his bladder, I didn't feel like it was full. The poor boy is STARVING! He is used to getting dry food in his bowl before bedtime and again in the morning. I was only able to give him another half can of wet and he finished that before I even left the room! I'm going to ask the vet for a recommendation for dry food for him.

At least they figured out what was wrong! I hope that he gets better soon.
