OK, granted, she's studying fashion design (I think), but she's at least doing something.
I hope this experience does show Paris that there is more in the whole wide world than just her. I hope that her contacts made in jail (they said she's playing ping pong, reading newspapers and the Bible - that's what she told Baba WaWa - and she's not in a cell but in the medical facility) make her see what life really is like outside of her glass house.
I saw a magazine with a cover that said where is her mom during all of this? Or something to that effect. I didn't see anything but the cover but I assume they meant while she was getting in trouble. For godsake, the WOMAN (not child) is 26 years old. She is an adult by far.
I know many people her age that already have careers, degrees, and homes with children. She is still stuck in a young 20 year old adult phase that I saw many college kids stuck in. She hasn't had to grow up as fast as some, her maturity is coming a lot later in life. Much later.
I feel bad for her (not a popular opinion on here) b/c I don't assume everyone in the spotlight as to automatically be a role model. Esp. not for people worldwide, that is hard and alot of responsibility. People make mistakes. Some move on, some don't. Everyone is different and everyone handles things in different ways. Many people in the media aren't ready for that nor need to be displayed as a role model for our children. The ones that are are few and far between.
I think parents need to teach their children the difference between people on TV, sports icons, and real role model. Just an IMO.
Futhermore, their lives are picked apart by people who like to judge, everyone has an opinion regardless of who they are or where they come from. That must get very annoying and hurtful. I know personally I would hate it. She does do work beneficial for society at times, but who cares about that when there are more exciting headlines? Who is to say what YOU would be like if you were raised like her? Who is to say you would do any better (the global you)? Her life is not a "waste" IMO. But then again, I don't believe that many people's lives are a "waste" (altho some are).
