Hi everyone,
I have a cat that is about 2 years old. We got her in December. She's a big girl, my guess is around 13 lbs. Lately, she seems to be having troubles cleaning her rear end. I've noticed the last 3 days or so, that she has soft stools, & they are somewhat lighter than usual, a more yellow tone. The only thing I can think of for the soft stools, is we changed her cat food. That was about a week & a half ago. All I noticed, was it had a bit more protein/fat, & it contains wheat, where her normal food didn't. This is dry food BTW. After she goes to the litter box, it seems that some of it sticks to her a little bit too, & it's sometimes found on the floor later. I've been trying to gently hold her down to clean it, but she's not having that at all & I don't want to hurt her. The area also looks like some of the fur is gone, & it's red & raw. I did give her a bath 4 days ago, because I noticed she smelled like urine (which she never has before), but it didn't seem to help.
Unfortunately, we don't have the funds right now to take her to the vet.
Does this sound like a very serious situation? I'm very worried, I don't want her to be going through some horrible thing.
Anyone have any advice about this?
Thanks.
