Hello there, this is my first post. I would like to introduce you to how I came across Aurora before getting too far in to any issues with her- so that you have an understanding of her past.
Where I work, there have alays been many cats. There are two females and two males, all adult. Well the eldest female, we call her Missy, had a litter of kittens, and was doing just fine. Then, after those kittens were about four weeks old or so, the other female, Fluffy, Missy's daughter from way before, had kittens as well. But you see.. Fluffy (Dont ask about the names, I didn't name thm, lol) only had two. The older kittens adopted her as their mother because she had the most milk, and their real mother, Missy, was always out and about hunting. So, Fluffy has these two kittens just born, when the others move in and wont let them suckle. Fluffy then completely ignores her kittens, taking the other older 4 as her own. The two baby kitties were helpleless and trudged over continuously by others cats and kittens.
Then the older kittens grabbed one of the younger ones, most likly assuming it was a rodent, and played with it on the concrete floor- we found it dead at only one day old. A male Tom consumed it. I wasn't there to witness this, but the day that was to be the 3 day mark for those baby kitties- I came along. I never knew about the baby kitten, until I heard it gasping and sceaming from the other side of the building. I rushed over, only to witness that the other 4 older kittens had drug out this baby female kitten- pure white right down to the tail to the cheeks, and started batting it around. I snarled and picked it up, as it was having what almost looked like a heart attack from the other kittens attacking it, and lack of milk gave it a bad look of malnutrition. Its breathing was VERY intermittent, and it was pretty much just a sack of skin and bones.
The mother of the youngest, Fluffy herself, even hissed at it, and swatted at it a few times my other employees told me. So.. I had no choice but to take it in. At 2.5 days old, the young kitten came home with me. I was afraid its back leg was broken, but it ended up being Okay.
I immediatly went to the vet got some kitten milk replacement, and me and my Fiance have been with this little girl ever since. She is now 2 weeks and one day old as of today. She has made a HUGE turn around, and is doing very well.
She does however seem to have a urination problem, or poor bladder- you have her urinate and then only half an hourish later you see she has wet herself again. There is a very small amount of mucusy discharge as well. She is bathed about 10 times daily due to her wetting problem, and it seems to happen to her in her sleep, just like a little kid.
