Hello, I have a nine week old kitten who's just had quite a nasty health scare with cat flu and lost a fair amount of weight from his already very thin frame. I suspect the shelter weren't honest with me about how old he was when I adopted him because he's very, very small. Anyway, when I get him home from the vet (tomorrow, yay!!) I want to try and put some meat on his bones as quickly as possible. Can anyone tell me the best brands of kitten food to beef him up?

Thanks!

Remember the little kitten's stomach is not big and won't hold a lot. Better to offer him a spoonful or two of canned kitten food 3-4 times a day. You can also offer some boiled chicken breast to help fill him up (and out)

Get some Nutracal (extra vitamins) paste and give him some of that 1-2 times a day.

Congrats on bringing your kitty home tomorrow! I agree with the others but also keep in mind since he's not been well, food that is too rich may irritate the stomach more. Take it slow and good luck to kitty!

OK great, I will do that. Unfortunately they don't seem to sell Nutrical in NZ but I'll try to get something similar from the vet. Thanks everyone!
