I just mentioned on another thread how kittys make me melt! That face is to hard to deny! She actually does look content to me in the pics, just lookin for some extra love! Maia was the same way, runt of the litter, milk supplement, though she had one eye with a cold. What a precious darling! I have to admit that I just melted and had to reality check myself!

Aww...poor wee baby!
She'll be big and fat and running around in no time, though!

yep, unlike Java, she's already showing it!

no, not 'formally', altho they've all sniffed, & Cable, Java & Chip have all hissed at her. she just sits there & takes it. she's used to adults being around, but not necessarily hissing at her. Pixel sniffed at her once, & has pretty much avoided her since. last night, i found i had to stuff under the bathroom door, 'cause she can fit under it. she found her way into the bedroom. Chip was kind enough to let me know...

her eyes are already looking much better, after only 4 applications of ointment. she's still not using the litterbox on her own, so she's confined to the bathroom unless she's snuggling with me. i've put up the baby gate, so the others can actually see her now, not just hear & smell her. that'll also help with the 'zoo' odor the bathroom was getting!

She is such a tiny baby! Luckily she has a wonderful meowmy to make her all better. She is going to be one heck of a looker!!

When you say orange blaze do you mean her little orange patch above her nose? Roxie has an orange/red patch above her nose and to the side a little... it is more orange/red than it looks in my siggy

yes - it's really more of a streak, but with all of the crusty gunk going on i think it's hard to tell in pix. anyway, her nose is part pink & part black, and the orange goes from her nose up between her eyes, ending up in a patch over her right eye.

oh I know that odor all too well.... we had Leo locked up for a bit... he cried the whole time... it was a sin, and the worst part was the litter everywhere... I had a towel under neath the litter pan, but he still got litter & poopy foot prints everywhere...
Then you get out of the shower & low & behold, litter stuck to your clean feet!
For awhile it was like college... we would keep our flip flops in the bathroom so we could step into those... and I'd dust buster it everyday. It was still a mess....

well, the vibes are working! she is so much better today! her eyes are almost clear, & she actually ran...not so fast that i couldn't catch her, but still... she also did a great job using the litterbox for her poop, altho she peed on the newspaper. she knows what the box is for when i put her in there, but she's not going in there on her own to do her thing. but baby steps... how appropriate a term, huh?

Laureen, look into Cat Attract litter. I think they actually make kitten attract now.
At 4 weeks, most kittens use the box sometimes....by 6 weeks she should be using it more.

I'm thrilled to hear she is so much better!!

well, the vet said she thought Firefox was 4 weeks, so if that's right, she's on track. she's still occasionally sampling it, tho, especially after digging - using her mouth to remove stray pieces from her feet. that's why i bought the WBCL for her, so it wouldn't hurt if she ingested some. my others all use tidy cat crystals blend.

Laureen, she is SO precious!

Since she is from a feral environment, you may also think about mixing some organic potting soil in with the litter. It may be a little more familiar to her. (Or it may just make more of a mess.
)

I can't wait to see updated pictures of her progress.
