It's always interesting to realise when a lake hasn't always been there (or as big) as we know now it and that people lived on those spots.

Yep, we need rain! The Tropical Storm was nice, but it was not enough.

Some years ago an Italian river was dammed. Some towns had to be abandoned or moved. Years later they opened the dam gates to let the lake level drop for maintenance on the dam and that meant these towns could be seen again. Rather eerie to see the churches and other large buildings that couldn't be moved.
