Hey!
That is so sad Eithne.... I thought by now they wouldn't be doing that... Before I knew better, I was terrified about my brand new extremely expensive couch being scratched to death... I asked the vet when I brought LuckyGirl in when we 1st found her, "what should I do, if she ruins my furniture I can't keep her, should I get her declaw?" And she said it's the last possible solution. They won't do it unless you have tried other things, including soft claws, which they will put on for you the 1st time for free. I can't believe that it's still done without exhausting other options 1st....
