Hello, My name is Louri... people call me Lore, hence the username.

I am a 28 year old stay at home mom to 3.5 year old Quadruplets. I kid you not.

These are my Kids, Simon, Matthew, Zoe & Devlin. They are a Blast... & alot of work.

ANYWAY... this IS a CAT SITE... on to the KITTY stuff... We have a 1 year old male cat named Horatio. We love all of the CSI shows, this kitty is a red headed "cool cat" just like Horatio Cain on CSI Miami, thus the name.

Here are a few photo's of Horatio.

There was recently seizure of 20 cats living with an elderly mentally ill lady. These cats were spayed/neutered and given their shots and given a clean bill of health. We have picked one out and my husband is on his way home with her right NOW!!!! I am SOOO EXCITED!

This is the only photo I have of her that was taken when they seized them and spayed her etc. (poor scared lil' baby)

She is a 1 year old Siamese Mix, we are going to name her Yuki Meow we'll just call her Yuki (pronounced 'YOU-key'), apparently she has talked to my husband the whole time in the car except for when he sings to her. LOL! I will get more photo's when she gets a little more settled in.

For now... that's my intro.

HELLO!

Thank You for the warm Welcome!

When my husband got home with her it was a good time after the kids were in bed for the night, and the house was quiet. He opened the box the rescue her gave her to us in and she sat in that for awhile, while we pet her. She has such a sweet little face.

I got more history on her. She weighs all of 6lbs and apparently before they had her Spayed she had JUST had a litter of kittens, none of them survived. Her being MAYBE a year old or under herself... poor lil' kitty.

Horatio crept up on the box... looked in... and greeted his new sister Yuki with a "HISSSS"
and kept sniffing at her. He was certianly very curious. He only hissed the one time. She then he just kept following her around "whining at her"
silly guy... I can tell they'll be great pals once she settles in.
He definately needed a friend, that's for sure.

We have a 3 level townhouse. catbox on the lowest level, cat food in the kitchen on the midlevel, (bedrooms are upstairs if anyone would like to know) LOL. I of course put 2 extra bowls on the lowest level where the cat box is for Yuki since that is where she is hiding out for now so she can get to her food.

Now if I could get some advise from you multiple cat households

We have the 1 Cat Box downstairs, is that fine for the 2 cats? Or now that I have 2 cats, should I have a 2nd Cat Box maybe on the 2nd level too?

HI! Welcome to TCS!
How wonderful it is that you've taken in this cat
I've always heard that it's best to have one kitty litter box per cat. I would suggest having one on each floor of the house. Good luck, and keep us updated! BTW: Thanks for sharing those pics, we love pics here

Welcome from me, Peaches, Paisley, Josie and Arthur. What a beautiful family you have -- kids and cats both.

I would put a box on each floor. You don't want any accidents. I hope the introductions continue to go smoothly. A little hiss is allowed, but no bloodshed.

I am glad everything is going well. You might want to out a litter box on both levels (I do and I only have one cat). Your children are adorable and Horatio looks very healthy. Good luck with the new kitty. We love pictures and updates.

i agree. besides, you want a minimum of 1 box per cat, anyway, if that's at all possible. i'm planning on adding another box pretty soon, myself. welcome - Horatio is quite a handsome guy, & Yuki is really a pretty girl! sounds like the intro is going well!

Thank you, I will be going out to get another box this evening then to put on the 2nd level.

Yuki, is still hiding on the 3rd level under the couch which is fine, I check under there to make sure she is ok. I know it will take her awhile, I just don't know if she has eaten yet. Poor lil' girl. Should I put some food under the couch for her to eat? Or would that not encourage her to come out? But I want to make sure she has food... advise on that woud be good that's for sure...

I'm I know she has had a rough start, but luckily she is only just under a year old or just a year old, so with her being so young, once she adjusts she'll be just fine and have a long happy life here.

They are both fully armed, but no, there has been no bloodshed.
Horatio keeps sniffing under the couch, he's certianly more used to her I think already than she is used to the new enviornment.

EDIT: I went down there to check on her and clean the cat box and put the food bowl and water under the couch anyway. I want to make sure she's able to get something to eat and drink.
