We still call our dogs "the puppies" or "the boys", even though they are 3-1/2 years old. They are brothers and best friends. We had a lot of rain a few weeks back and the lake in back of our house went over the banks. We took the boys for a walk around the lake and they had a good time.

Give Spike a chance, and he will lay down in the water:

Give Sam a chance, and he will run through it:

I think Sam spotted a bullfrog:

The 2 of them chilling:

And I decided to dabble my toes in it. It was chilly that day but the water was actually warm. Note the puppies trying to play with me. I only got slightly wet shorts that day:

Beautiful!

They're just like ours - a black one and a gold one. Such a lovely combination!
Our babies are 2 now but will always be referred to as the puppies. Or the puppers, usually

Lovely dogs - they look like they had such a great time! What a great spot.

Spike always lays down in the water. Sam runs thru it and Spike just lays down and drinks.

We have 2 acres of fenced back yard and have never bothered to leash train them. When we take them with us, they are trained to come when called and we never let them wander out of voice range. So they always get to romp!

The first time I saw your 2 boys, they reminded me of mine. Mine will be 4 this November, but will always be our puppies. And I agree, it's a great spot that happens to be in back of my house. My back yard butts up to the lake and we go for walks around it nearly every day. The lake was one of the primary reasons we bought this house last year (for the pups). The second reason was the huge house with sun room (for all of our cats).
