Keisha is on Purina food. Its for cats who get UTIs alot which she does unless shes on that. And she likes that so we have good luck with it. It also can be bought at wal-mart. I also know that its not all that of a healthy food for her, but I dont want to change her from it, because she likes it and it helps her.
Sammy my all the time outside cat (when hes home), eats Purina too, but its not for UTIs. He does fine with that.
Kalli eats Chicken Soup for the kitten lover's soul. They sell it at my Farm & Home store and that is the only place. I dont think they sell adult food either, for cats or dogs. (so i dont know what i'm going to put her on, when shes done nursing) I have no idea why, nor do they sell canned food. And you can only get small bags of it. Kalli hates this food, and she hates Purina too. She doesnt really like it at all, she only eats it because she has too. So far she will not touch wet food of any kind either. And after she had her babies shes really skinny, so I want her to gain weight. So what other food is there that they sell at Wal-mart, she might like, and is pretty healthy? Because I cant go realy anywhere else because i would have to drive like 1 1/2 hrs at the very least.

IAMS, I think it's better than most *store* brands. And since you can't go to a pet store. Than you could either use that or order online. My friend goes to PetfoodDirect.com

Are You Tired Of Bad Cat Food?
Nov 06 '05 (Updated Nov 09 '05)

The Bottom Line
This is perfect for a maintenance diet if your cat is prone to struvite crystals. Helps maintain an acidic urine.

Full Review
OUR COST:
14.99 for a 4 pound bag.

WARNING TO READERS:
If you do not yet know what type of UTI your cat has, do not try to treat them until they have been diagnosed by a quality vet. If there is blood in cat's urine, vomitting, or severe shakiness - take them immediately to a vet for emergency treatment.

TYPE OF UTI THIS CAT FOOD TREATS:
This particular cat food is good for cats that have a history of struvite crystals. However, it should not be used to treat UTI's that are currently in what is considered an "acute phase." Follow your vet's prescribed diet and medication treatment until all signs are cleared.

WHEN TO USE:
After all signs of acute UTI are cleared. Will help prevent reoccurrance. Formulated for cats prone to urolithiasis, but also an excellent maintenance diet. Contains no excess minerals and helps maintain an acidic urine.

OUR CAT'S FEEDBACK:
All three of our cat's love this cat food. I notice a huge difference when they are consuming it. They are less restless, happier and mild-mannered. Their fur is noticeably shinier and softer and their eyes are brighter. Their urine and stools don't smell as much and they rarely vomit or have diarhhea. Also, my male cat who gets the UTI's, has very little problems with his allergies when he is eating this food.

WHAT OUR VET HAS SAID:
Every time I take one of our cat's in to see a vet, they always say the same thing. They are one of the few healthiest cats that they have ever seen. None of them are over-weight (even though we leave the food out), the oldest one is five years old and still does not need a teeth cleaning. All blood tests always come back negative.

IT HAS A HIGH-PROTEIN CONTENT:
Analysis: Protein 32%, Fat 15%, Fiber 4%, Moisture 12%. Most cat foods list a grain (primarily corn) as the base ingredient. Wysong tries to use everything a wild cat would eat in the wild. Wysong's first three ingredients are: Chicken, Chicken Giblets, Ground Oat Groats.

IT IS FREE OF ANIMAL BY-PRODUCTS:
For those of you who do not know: animal by-products are the left-over portions of slaughtered animals that that are deemed unsafe for human consumption. To an extreme, this can include cancerous tumors, rotten meat, inedible organs, feathers, fur, diseased parts, rancid fat, etc. According to the USDA, there is no mandatory federal inspection of ingredients used in pet foods: this means they use animals that are dead, dying, disabled or diseased in dog and cat food. Check out: http://www.wysong.net/typesmeats.shtml to learn more about the kinds of meats that wysong uses.

WHAT WYSONG HAS TO SAY....

HERE IS AN EXCERPT FROM WYSONG'S WEBSITE:
FRESH, WHOLE, ORGANIC: Fresh, whole, human-grade ingredients, organic, and non-GMO as available – not just pre-rendered by-products and grain fractions.
FRESH: Fresh meats, whole ingredients as starting materials – not just inexpensive, preprocessed food fractions that are nutrient depleted and aged.
GENETICALLY MATCHED: Designed to mimic archetypal carnivore diets – not just grain diluted foods with meat flavorings.
NATURAL FORM: An emphasis on naturally complexed nutrients – not just isolated synthetics or food fractions.
SPECIAL INGREDIENTS: Whole grains and legumes specially bred to increase nutrient content and decrease anti-nutritional factors – not genetically modified, fractionated flours or meals, stripped of most of their nutritional value.
FATTY ACID BALANCE: High in essential fatty acids, including omega-3â€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s for immune, skin, and coat health – not processed, improperly balanced, altered, potentially toxic or destroyed fatty acids. (More information on Nutritious Oils.)
ENZYMES: As present in all natural foods – no heat-processed food devoid of inherent enzymes resulting in digestive and pancreatic distress.
PROBIOTIC CULTURES: Living microorganism cultures to create intestinal balance and health, plus oligosaccharides to promote probiotic growth – not food devoid of living elements creating increased vulnerability to pathogens.
VITAMINS AND MINERALS: In their most bioavailable forms, with pepper extract to increase absorption by as much as 250% – not singular, improperly balanced, poorly bioavailable synthetics.
PHYTONUTRIENTS: An array of antioxidants, phytonutrients, immune stimulants, and metabolic enhancers from fresh plant sources – not disregard for the weight of scientific evidence proving their benefits.
AGE NONSPECIFIC: Highly palatable, naturally balanced for pets at all life stages – not artificially manipulated to meet arbitrary age parameters.
GENTLE: Easily tolerated by allergic companion animals – not fractionated ingredients, additives, and synthetics often resulting in adverse reactions.
SYNERGISTIC: Designed to be freely rotated for variety and maximum nutrition – not touted as a complete diet to be fed indefinitely. (See The Truth About Pet Foods).
ADDITIVE-FREE: Freedom from non-nutritional ingredients – not additives merely to create color, texture, taste, smell, stool consistency, or shelf life.
NATURAL PRESERVATION: Natural Wysong OxherpholTM antioxidant; Nutri-pakTM oxygen and light barrier packaging; fats and oils purged of oxygen by special processing – not synthetic preservatives and permeable packaging permitting nutrient degradations by oxygen and light. (See Oxherphol Technical Information, Healthy Packaging Literature, and Wysong Processing Methods.)
NUTRITION-FIRST PROCESSING: Specialized processing to protect fragile nutrients – not production only to maximize production rate and profitability. (See Wysong Processing Methods.)
OPTIMAL NUTRITION: Specifically designed to mimic archetypal diets and hence optimize health – not simply meet minimum regulatory standards to make a minimum % complete†claim. (Optimal Health Program.)
VALUE: On a nutrition and health per pound basis, there is no better value than Wysong. The proof is simple – Wysong Works! (See Testimonials.)
