Hi,

With kittens, say 6 weeks old, is it safe to bath them in water? Like put then in an inch or two of water and then scoop water over it. I know using shampoo is not safe, but how about plain water?

Who says shampoo is not safe? Whenever we brought the barn kittens in for weaning/socialization, they ALWAYS got a first bath in warm water and a little shampoo. So they got baths at 5-6 weeks old.

You can use shampoo on them - just a little is needed. Be sure to rinse very well and wrap them in a warm towel. Keep them away from all drafts till totally dry.

Yep, if you have baby shampoo that works really well.

Dawn Dish soap, anti-bacterial is what I prefer to use because it works well on any fleas or bugs that might be hanging around on them. Plus it is great on kittens, they even advertize on the label that it's what they use on wildlife.
