Little rant about my friend(pit bull related)

Sorry-its probly not nice to talk about your friends, but I am slightly upset over something and need to "vent"!! First off, I dearly love this girl.....and she is a great person but she doesnt always make the wisest decisions.

Ok-a few mos ago, she went to a local shelter and adopted a pit bull, right?? Well I told her from the start, it was a BAD idea, because they arent allowed in city limits. Of course, she didnt care or listen. So anyhoo-the whole time shes had this dog, shes never really been allowed to "run" in her house. Shes always got her crated or something-which I dont really believe in, but anyways, this past weekend, her family went camping with us. So she leaves the dog out in the dog pen! Which was wrong....but she came home Monday to find she was missing. Well it took her 2 days of me convincing her to call the AC, and sure enough, they had her!! Ok, so the AC tells her if she finds the dog a home THAT day he wont charge her for dog running at large and pit bull in city. Soooooooooo~he also tells her that if she doesnt get rid of her, they will have to "do away with her"...... So me being me-offered to "foster" her, but only a short time. Well I am waiting to get some fencing up before we do this. I am really kinda deciding I dont want to foster her...because thats one more dog I would have to get rid of if we move. I feel so bad for the dog. Its not her fault. I am kinda blaming my friend for this, because she adopted her knowing she couldnt have her!!

Ugghh..........sorry this ended up being so long. Oh yeah and something else that bothered me, I went by there yesterday to see where she had the dog at, and she had her in a crate, outside.......with no water, or food! I sent her a text message and told her it looked like something off Animal Precint. I know it upset her, but owell.

I hope everything works out ok for the dog, it is not the dogs fault.

I know!!! I feel so bad for the pupper. I have talked with some pit bull rescues and of course, noone can take her in!!

Some people should own pets and unfortunately it looks like your friend is one of them.

Aww you are so caring! I am sorry that your friend made a decision without thinking of the consequences! Maybe a life with animals just isn't the life for her! I am hoping the best for the dog and I respect you alot for giving your friend the business, whether she gets mad or not... Her actions and doings are irresponsible! Best of luck!

Have you tried any of the breed forums or communities? They may be able to put you in touch with someone who will take her, even it if means driving the dog a little ways.

some people, friends or not, do NOT need animals. please refer her to some of Norris's threads if she thinks she is being a responsible pet owner! it's the poor dog that's suffering, not her.

I sctually belong to a pit bull forum. They didnt seem to help very much.....

I think shes thinking about putting her to sleep.....

Ew that reminds me of my sister.. She talks about getting a dog again..meanwhile she can't even pay her bills

I will have to make an anonymous call to the breeder letting them know her dog history if she does decide to get one.

It is one of her cousins, so she can visit her when she wants to! I am sooo happy for her!!

That is great news! Hopefully he will just love his new home!

I'm very suprised that they let her adopt the dog knowing that she lived in an area where they were not allowed. I feel bad for the dog, its not the dogs fault that her owner is so irresponisble.
