65 wpm
75 words typed
0 mistakes
null mistakes per minute.

But then I spend most of the day typing reports and such.
I definetaly do much better if I am thinking about something else when I am working though because when I do try to concentrate I make more mistakes then if I just type what is in front of me.

Wow, mine was pathetic. 64 wpm no mistakes. The test was annoying, though, with that line moving under the letters. I used to type 100+ wpm but that was sitting upright at a desk... not slumped over on the sofa with a laptop.

Yep, but www.typingtest.com doesn't do that, and it doesn't lag... I was running into the *test* skipping letters that I typed because it was behind my speed. It will also allow you to backspace (as long as you're in the same word.. if you hit space, it's charted as an error) and correct. I'm going to go play a bit and see what speed I am today.

Okay, so not pushing myself (where I'd make more mistakes)... I got

Net Speed: 75 WPM
(words/minute)
Accuracy: 99%
Gross Speed: 76 WPM
(words/minute)

I thought it was me

Also, I'm so used to backspacing to fix a mistake I kept doing that.

On the second attempt, once I figured out what was going on I got 72 with 2 errors. And I know I type faster than that. I used to type 90+ on a typewriter, and I know I'm faster on a keyboard.

Same here. I got 85 WPM and five mistakes -- I found every time I made a mistake, it distracted me and slowed me down, so I think I probably type faster than 85 WPM. On my resume, I say I type 75 WPM ... I should really change that.

I find that I get into a groove when I'm typing, and start to speed up as I go. I've been able to hit about 110-120 WPM when I really get going.
