I went to buy groceries today and sat outside while waiting for a taxi cab. A girl was sitting at the next table and just kept staring at me! How rude! Normally I just look away and I did at first, but I could still feel her eyes burning into the back of my head!
I hate people like that.

So I decided to just stare back. I leaned back, crossed my arms, got comfy and just stared her right in the eyeballs. Finally she looked away but I kept staring!
She looked away again. I kept staring!
She looked at me, gave me a funny look and got up and left. I guess she didn't like to be stared at!

Some people

LOL, yeah I did. It's not like me to do stuff like that, but I was not in a very good mood today. Grocery shopping is physically very hard for me and I was just anxious to get home and the cab was taking forever. I had to call 4 times before it arrived! So the last thing I needed was to have some rude woman just sitting there staring holes into me.

You might have learned to stare so hard from your kitties, Linda. You know cats are the champions in staring contests.

I think my son has a t-shirt that says "Keep staring at me, I might do a trick."

I'll let you in on a bit of a secret

You can get over pretty much any fear or uncomfortable situation by "acting". Just pretend that you are in a play and your action is required.

Yes, that's exactly right! I've "acted" my way through public speaking, even, and that's about as tough as it gets (for me).

And y'know, even though I am not, by any stretch of the imagination, attractive... if I stand tall and walk confidently and act as if I look the way I really am inside, people seem to forget how ugly I am.

Of course, then I see myself in a shop window and the illusion is shattered.

You're brilliant. I wouldn't have had the courage to stare back like that. It's hilarious that you did though, and made her just as uncomfortable as she would have made you!

ARGH!! Staring kids are so annoying!

I swear, if I ever have kids, the FIRST thing I will teach them is how NOT to stare

LOL! Love that one. I usually look away as well, but when I'm in a foul mood, whether the person is male or female I will wink and say "hey there". Usually does the trick.

You could have started picking your nose or something too! Of course then you'd either have to 'eat' one and then offer her some...or flick it in her direction....maybe tell her your making a booggie shield to deflect her lazer eyes!
