Just a year ago, when Turvy Demeter was still alive but suffering from cognitive disorder, there was a small uprising for who would be the Alpha cat among the Jellicles. Peanut Butterum seemed more than willing to go blow for blow with the Diva, Etcetera D'Calico for the throne. But, that all blew over when Turvy's medications started to work and she regained her positon.
Then, Turvy left us for the rainbow bridge, and Peanut surprisingly just conceded the Alpha spot to the Diva, no questions asked.
Then, I found Freeway, and it seemed as though the Diva and Peanut were sharing some of the roles that Turvy used to keep to herself, with Etcetera taking care of grooming and mediating spats, and just doing "Queeny" kind of stuff, while Peanut took to the Mothering duties of raising little Freeway.
And today, just now, the doozy of all surprises
Peanut Butterum and Etcetera D'Calico, peacefully snoozing the afternoon away back to back on the bed, a genuine picture of contentment. It would seem that baby Freeway has been a blessing in disguise for all of us
