Well, Mika's babies are 5 weeks old now!! And I was wondering, is it time to start feeding them food? And could I put water, instead of KMR in it? Because, my grandma is old-fashioned you see, and anything that she thinks isn't right, she won't do. And whatever she thinks is right, she will do, she thinks 6 weeks is old enough, but I did tell her when I wanted to rehome them. And I think she is ok with the mother weaning them. She always lets the mommas wean their babies. Because she fed many outdoor momma cats. Remember, she is old-fashioned. But she did do good for them.
She saved cats, and all that. And now the population is down. Well, thank you for reading!

Sasha's babies turned 4 weeks old Saturday (the adopted 2) and Monday/Tuesday. I've been putting down some KMR on a plate for the past couple of days and letting the kittens sniff it if they wish. Today the oldest two kittens finally took a few laps of it by themselves. I'm not going to rush them, they'll eat whenever they're ready to. I am going to get some canned food and start offering that to them in the next week or two.

You can try a soupy mix of KMR, canned kitten food and warm water - they may or may not be interested. Most of my kittens were 5-7 weeks old before they were more willing to eat solids. I never tried them earlier then 5 weeks cause they refused solid food.
