A Christmas Card For My Catsite Friends

T’was the night before Christmas, I just couldn’t sleep.
With Keith’s loud snoring, to my office I did creep.
I spied my computer, I’ll go boot-up that...
I’ll take me online for some Christmas Eve chat.

When out in the hall there arose such a racket,
Keith leapt from his bed, pulling on pant and jacket.
When, peeking through blinds, our eyes did behold,
but a weird kind of sleigh, and some guy who looked old.

It was Santa, in our yard and his face glow of rage
stuffing all reindeer into our GIANT CAT CAGE.....
So outside we ran, tried not to wake neighbor
When Santa exclaimed, “Hey Keith, I need a favor!â€

“The reindeer said neigh, they won’t pull this big sleigh...
...can I borrow your cats to save Christmas Day?â€

So we let Santa borrow our four cats to fly,
“Just be careful with Rocko, or he’ll scratch out your eye!â€
Our pets were not shy and to Santa they came,
As he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name:

“Now, GoGo! now, Spot! No fighting in the sky
On, Peanut! on, Rocko! It’s time to go fly!
To the top of the porch, to the top of the wall!
With felines in flight, they passed over the mall!

Then we heard him exclaim as he dwindled from sight,
“Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!â€

Merry Christmas Everybody!!
Kim, Keith & Eric Ward
Also, Peanut, Rocko, GoGo & Spot

Nice one Kim. That's very clever. Here I am sat with Photoshop, Director, Flash etc etc and I can't make them do anything like that!!!

Happy Christmas to you too!!

Thanks Hissy and Yola!
You know...I couldn't wait until the "Day After" Thanksgiving so that I could officially send out my wacky Christmas card to the only people who would "Get It"....Only the folks at the catsite, of course!

BTW Yola, great idea! I think I'll consider doing THIS card in Flash...Geeze.—with all of the clipping paths I had to do to make my cats pull Santa's sliegh, LOL! I may as well make this card dance.

That was great!!

Thanks for the great card! I woke my Dad from his afternoon post-shopping with me nap laughing at the Fab Fur pulling Santa's sleigh!

You guys are so kind! I guess I'm feeling particularly festive this year—I think my cats are, too.

As a matter of fact, as I was setting up my Christmas City this morning and GoGo, my big Orange boy was helping me… look how petite he is—not quite sure what he was doing with that paw.......(batting his reflection in the glass maybe?)

Maybe he's simply posing for a cute pic!!!! (You can tell him he succeeded!)

That card is so cool! Thanks! And I love the pic of GoGo!!

What a wonderful card! Thank you!

And that picture of Gogo is great! Save it for next year's holidays CT Gogo is the one that ate Christmas last year isn't he? Looks like this year you're more careful with the arrangement

   Anne - That's right! GoGo is The Cat Who Ate Christmas ...and just when I thought of a plan to make Christmas City SAFER, GoGo starts sniffing out a way to go back for seconds....

Kim, I'm not so curious about what GoGo is doing with that paw, because I think we KNOW what he wants to do! :laughing2 What puzzles me is how Santa's sleigh remains airborne, considering- how do I say this diplomatically?- the rather ample and gravity loving tummy on said kitty?

Thanks Ghyslaine! That picture ended up being pretty cool - I love his reflection on the left in the glass door.... It's like Accidental Art...

You are so creative!! Great postcard and poem. That pic of GoGo, the cat who just won't leave Christmas alone!! - is so cute. Definitely have to save that one for next year's Christmas CT.

Would you believe I found PAW MARKS on the outside of my corner hutch door? GoGo is trying to get in there....He wants to obliterate Christmas City… LOL!! He's such a nerd sometimes....

Well, Kim, I don't know if that evidence would hold up in court. Have you had his paw prints compared with a set on file? Just because he has a "record" doesn't necessarily mean he's guilty. Poor, misjudged GoGo....(not!)
