Today on my couch I found what appeared to be a little claw, but I decided to inspect Princess's mouth to see if it was a tooth..

I saw a little red hole there, so what I found was a tooth. She is about 5 1/2 months old now.

My question is.. should I be worried? Or do cats lose a set of teeth just like dogs do?

Thanks as always!

No need to worry. About 6 months of age "adult teeth" come in....which means her baby teeth should fall out.

Thanks, Natalie
I worry a lot about my girl.. if she could talk I think she'd say "meowmy.. I'm just FINE, geez.."

Quite normal, but I think you were lucky to find a tooth - I would have loved to have kept one from each of my cats but they both got their adult teeth in seemingly overnight and must have swallowed their baby teeth.

Indeed, I've read that most of the time they just swallow the teeth. I wish I could have kept one of their baby teeth too.. but they were sneaky about it. Seemed like one day they had baby teeth and then the next, adult teeth... sneaky!
