sick cat !

Hello, im a newby so bear with me, I have a nearly 2 year old cat called nico and last week i noticed a small yellowish lump that looked like a seed. He is allowed outside so I thought that it was properly just a bit of a flower or something stuck to his fur and thought no more about it. over the last few days he has been sleeping alot, not wanting to play and biting and scratching us. today I noticed when i was inspecting him that the yellowish lump is still there and bigger and if it was something stuck to him I think he would have cleaned it off by now. the lump is on his right side under his jaw. I think also that looking at him that side of his face is swollen too but dont know if that my imagination. it is a bank holiday in scotland as so there is only an emergency system at the vets and I dont know if I should be treating it as an emergency. I wondered if it cauld be an infected saliva glad and that poss why he can digest food and is being sick?? if someone could giuve me advice i would be really grateful, thanks jennie

No way to know without seeing him. Could be a spider bite, abcess, etc... Sounds like he is in a lot of pain. I would get him to the Vet as soon as you can.

If it were me, I would go to an emergency vet ASAP. PLEASE let us know something!

Took Nico to the vet today the lump was a tick, so he has had it removed and is now back to his cheeky self, many thanks for all you advice, Jennie

I'm glad you took him in and found it was something easy to take care of.
