This is a happy momma and baby rescue story....thought it would cheer people up! I rescue Min Pins and I have 9 of them and a Dachshund. My yard is enclosed by 6 foot vinyl privacy fence with a six inch cement chain wall at the base. It is dog and cat proof (usually).

The neighbor hasn't been trimming her large bushes and they are hanging over along one side of my fence...unfortunately, when baby birds fall out on my side they are quickly killed and eaten. Min Pins are ratters.....

Well a small siamese female apparently was hunting and fell in the yard. We let the dogs out at 6:30am and we heard them baying...like they caught something...it was the cat. They did their best, if we hadn't been home....it would have been ugly.

I managed to catch her and bring her to the vet....with instructions..if she is feral or sick...please euthanize her humanely....she was neither and after 5 days, I brought her home....the vet told me that she had been nursing.

After 5 days in my neighbors flower bed, we found 4 four week old kittens....all happy, healthy, hungry and without fleas. After about 15 minutes with their poor, traumatized mom, she started licking them. They are now about 8 weeks and I have two kittens and the mom left. Two kittens got homes, one I am keeping and I have yet to find a home for mom and the 4th kitten.

I am paying for shots and spay on all kittens and mom. If anyone knows someone who lives in south louisiana and wants a very sweet kitten, please PM me. I am sure in the next few weeks I will find a home, and when momma is ready she will go and get spayed and we will look for her a home.

The one we are keeping is a tortishell female and she is sleeping on my arm right now. We were so fortunate that the whole family survived and doesn't have to live feral anymore.....

This is the kitten that still needs a home:

Watching the robins sing!
Thank goodness that the dogs didn't kill the cat. It is great that you are keeping the mother and one kitten. But will they be safe from the dogs that you foster?
That is just an adorable kitten!

Ohh, don't worry...I rescue Min Pins, and inside the house they are never alone with the cats. During the day they have an indoor patio and yard. At night some are in bed the rest in crates.

I have two cats already that are bigger than the dogs....so the dogs are well behaved and are great when in doors. The pack mentality takes over outside. Inside I am the boss, and cats are dominant members pf the pack. Kitten and Mamma are great....and getting to know the dogs...

Also, the kittens that were placed have immunizations and they are eating royal canin baby cat food without hestiitation... And I pay fir the spay and rest of shots...
