Is this twitching a big deal or am I just paranoid?

Bella is a 9yr old female who has IBD and mild kidney problems. She has bloodwork and a vet check up every 3-4 months to make sure her IBD and Kidneys are functioning well. So far she has very acceptable blood work.. her last was about 3wks ago. She is on pred 3/week for her IBD and has no symptoms as long as she is on the pred. Bella is eating well and acting normally and she takes a holistic kidney support pill 2/day to help her kidneys perform better. But lately I have noticed the twitching. The last month or so I seem to be noticing it more, I think she has done if for a long time but for some reason it seems more frequent now.. several times/day.
Its always her legs, just a quick 1-2 second twitch/muscle spasm and then its gone. Most of the time its when she is laying on her side (she flops on the ground alot when she sees me, for loves/scratches) and stretching or laying there. I have noticed it lately too just when she walks sometimes, and another time when she was playing with somethng. She seems to ignore it and it doesnt seem to bother her at all.
I am trying not to worry but I am just wondering if its just like we as humans, where sometimes I get a twtich/muscle spasm and its just life, or if something is really wrong. I dont know if its getting worse or now I am just seeing it more or what. When she sleeps with me at night, she seems really quiet - and when I see her nap, she is like a log, so its just when she is awake. Is it just old age or ??

I just did some searching around and read a thread about organic catnip causing the twitching.. anyone heard of this? I had given Bella some the last few days and she ate quite a bit.. wondering if that could be causing her twitchs of late.. ?

Well, stop giving it to her and see what happens, or else ask the vet about it.
