I've recently started wearing these stretchy, kinda of sueded spandex (?) seamless sports bras (I think Hanes or Fruit of the Loom brand) that WalMart carries--$4.95 each; most are flesh-tone; others (which I seem to need a size up with, as they're not quite as stretchy) come in fuschia and turquoise (with an Asian-looking floral design over the left side--they quite pretty). They are the most comfortable bra I've ever worn--I have sensitive skin, and lace, elastic, etc. drive me nuts. And the straps don't slip (mine always did--I HATE that). The downside: I now have the bustline of a 13-year-old, which actually does make me look a bit younger in shape--I'm a little large than average, and the heavier bras made me look a bit matronly or even a tad vulgar--but I miss having the "shelf"!
Another downside, discovered yesterday: the front is 1-piece, not separated into cups. In hot weather, or while being active, I tended to sweat a bit there. Also, wearing clingy, thin shirts can be a problem--especially if you get cold (ladies, use your imagination here!). However, despite the draw-backs, I plan to keep wearing them. They are soft and comfortable, wash well, and you can't beat the price.

I knwo how frustrating bra-buying can be; before I lost weight, I was a weird, larger size, and had so much trouble finding the size; usually, when found, I hated the style! Best of luck!

Yes, the Walmart sports bras are my best solution so far, too... but like all the rest of them, if the band is loose enough not to interfere with breathing, it's also loose enough to slide right up and over!
And the middle isn't low enough not to show, either.

Anybody else remember the Seinfeld episode where Kramer and George's father (Jerry Stiller) invented a bra for men? They couldn't agree on what to call it -- the "mansierre" or the "bro."

I haven't found any that I really like in Penneys! I'm leaning towards VS so that I can get a good bra on sale(cheap
).

I'm going to maybe try the Miracle Bra....I've filled my shopping cart with bras again....maybe I'll order them just to see.... I am much less frusterated since I've caught up on sleep I lost due to bottle babies. I still would rather go swimsuit shopping than bra shopping!!

I understand your frustration, and my solution was to stop wearing bras (about a quarter of a century ago), unless I'm wearing a rather transparent top. They're too uncomfortable, and if anybody objects, too bad. When I do wear them in hot weather, under very light tops, it's only to work, and the first thing I do when I get home is to take the bra off. At 50, I no longer pass the "pencil test", but they're not flopping around my waist either, so if anybody has a problem with my going braless, it's their problem, not mine.

So....
I think I'll try ordering some padded or lightly lined(what's the difference???
) demi bras.
I'm not sure what else to try!
try kohl's. i wear that size, and i know what you mean about finding that size in the first place.
i bought one from kohl's that is "lily of france" brand. i bought a clearance one in a weird color, but it fits great. i just have to get back in to buy a couple more.
i hate clothes shopping, so i haven't been back yet.

i hate wearing the darn things...so mostly i just have them for work.

I read somewhere that most women wear the wrong size bra. I forget what exzctly the percentage was, but it was over half.
Have you considered going to a lingerie store and having yourself professionally measured? Many of them will do it for free, or a small fee. It could save you a lot of headaches. My daughter has a huge bust and that is what she had to do. It has saved her a lot of problems trying to find something she could wear comfortably.

I always order online from Fredericks! VS doesn't carry my size at all! I actually just got 2 new ones. Their bras look good and are supportive too. Plus they don't make you look pointy!

If you want to try them, PM me and I'll send you links to the ones I get that I know are good ones!

I was in VS, but didn't have them fit me as the 36A fit beautifully. I just ordered 8 bras, 4 different styles. We'll see if these ones work.
I've been into Kohls, JCPenney, ShopKo, Herbergers, Wal Mart, everyplace I could think of!

Try these lines if you haven't already : Pink, Very Sexy, Secret Embrace (the one without underwire- i'm a 38D and it still supports me well!), and the regular Secret Embrace bras. AVOID their strapless ones at all cost though- the underwire in them is horrible! (i go to Macy's for my underwire bras) but VS for everything else. VS is really good about letting you return/exchange things so maybe you can send the ones that don't fit back?

I plan to return the ones that I have. But, no mail until Tues, so I figured I'd just do it then...might as well get them processing my order now.
I LOVE their pink like....but it doesn't come in my size. I'm too tiny chested.

I got 2 VS cotton wireless ones, 2 VS cotton demis, 2 Body by Victoria demis, & 2 other demis. Most of the ones I really liked don't come in 36A....and a lot of the ones that did were like $30-$40 a pop. The most expensive I was looking for or willing to pay was $25.
