Challenge: Dreamy Effect

Thread Starter
This tutorial shows how to add a dreamy effect to images.

It is great for RB sigs or images that are not great quality and still make the sig look good.

As they said, on whole it works good with nature images, please use an image you have permission for or have taken

Also try one of the requests with this look

You can also use a free plugin by Autofx. You can use it in Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop, or any graphic program that supports plugins.

It's one of my favourite filters and I use it a great deal.

Do not do the X to change the foreground (some programmes do black then white others do white then black) you need white on top!

there are a few stock image sites, you will need to sign up though and check the individual terms of each picture.

If you find the graphic resources thread (there is a link in the sticky) there is a list in there

I have a huge list of copyright free resources. I do 3D graphics and many members of the 3D community provide such resources.

Here is a site that has many pages of background images. Use the drop down menu to locate them:

It should be the same if not similar, you just have to make sure that you do both the diffuse glow and cloud stuff in white
post #18 of 22
i found with the difuse glow , i kept the glow amount at 0 and put the clear amount at 16 and that seemed to work , not as good but it did the job. i tried with the foreground and back ground both being white and vise verser but every time i changed the glow amount it just turned the water etc.. black.
