Hi all, I'm new. Just posted my intro. I searched around, but couldn't find anything on this.

Dexter is 8 weeks old, I adpoted him from a rescue service. My resident cat is still adjusting to him, tolderates him, but doesn't want to play yet...understandable.

My question. Note, he has only 3 feet..4 legs. When do kittens start to jump onto things? Right now, he just climbs everywhere with his claws, not using them to scratch, but to climb. Mittens (resident cat) still can escape him by jumping, but I think Dexter feels left out that he can't get to the bay window and other places yet.

When do kittens lean how to jump? He's starting to jump down from things and not fall on hsi head now. He runs at top speed and uses his footless leg to run and walk, so I'm assuming he can jump with it.

We've got a vet appointment on tuesday I can ask then too, but I'm just really curious as to when he might be able to start to lean how to jump.

It depends on the kitty. My Twitch didn't jump at all until she was over a year old. Lily must think she can fly cuz she jumps everywhere.
The others all learned at different points they can jump. I've had Molly for almost 6 months now & she's about 1-2 years old. Still doesn't jump!

Yes, I think they differ. Your little guy has the balance issue with his missing foot so it may take a little longer. It is good that he's climbing
I am sure he'll surprise you one day and make a daring leap to the tallest bookcase!
