Would a Sphynx be ok with my girls?

Mica and Hopey are both Balinese (making a long story short) and DH has wanted a Sphynx kitty for about a year. Are Balinese/Siamese ok with Syphnxes? I don't know much about them but DH has been reading up for a while. Also considering that I will be breeding Hopey when she is old enough (I am a registered breeder with the GCCF and TICA), plus I will also one day get a stud.

We would also be looking for a cat from a Sphynx rescue.

I would really value your opinions

When I was researching the breed most of the breeders told me that they were just fine with other cats, in fact, one would refuse to sell her kittens to an only cat house hold because the Syphnx was so social. I think you'll be fine with your other two.

I have a Sphynx and there is nothing she won't get along with. She loves the dogs and puppies- from the 90+ lb to the 3 lbs and in between. She loves other cats, and every single person she comes in contact with is her very best friend, even the vet. She is super ultra affectionate and loves all animals and people. She has converted non cat people to Sphynx people. She is the only cat in the household, I do think they would do well with lots of other cats. They seem so social.
In my personal opinion you can't go wrong with a Sphynx

A Sphynx would be fine with most cats. The question would be more around if your Siamese will accept a new member of the family. Things have a way of working themselves out, so it isn't a big worry, but take your time in introducing one.

I used to have Sphynx (now breed Peterbalds). I love both breeds.

I don't see why not
They all have similar personalities, but remember the sphynx do act a lot like the cornish/devon rexes in personality.

One thing I did learn about sphynx is that if they get scratched by another cat, the mark will stay a long time in the skin! So be sure to keep your other cats nails trimmed short

If you get the sphynx, you know we want pictures

The Peterbald and the Sphynx will get scratched from time to time. Use an antibiotic on the scratch when that happens. It is just like one of use getting scratched on the skin. Wonderful cats. I am partial to the Peterbald, but still love the Sphynx. Personality and looks of the two breeds is very different.

There are antibiotic salves that won't hurt them to lick off. Some don't lick it off at all - some do. If you can get it to stay on there for just a few minutes, you are doing some good. I have never had a problem with that.

Actually, they don't get scratched very often. I show and breed, so I have everything here in case of anything happening. Not much usually does, though.

In addition, remember that a Sphynx has to be bathed often. The oils on their skin can get greasy - to the point of leaving residue on beds and clothes. The Peterbald doesn't need bathing as often, but does need it some, as well.

If I get a chance today, I could do a Sphynx vs. Peterbald thread - similar to the one on Bengal vs. Occicat. The two breeds are not related at all.

The key on either breed is making sure that the breeder is reputable. There are unethical breeders in both breeds and great ones in both breeds. Same as any breed. Since the care of both these breeds is different than other cats, it might be helpful.

I will type something up this morning. What might be good is if I give more of a post on the Peterbald and some of the differences and, then, a Sphynx breeder (I don't show Sphynx anymore, but still love them, as well) chimes in and adds things on that breed.

This will be fun. Gotta go feed all the babies right now and scoop, but will post something after that.
