If oyu point at something, does your cat look where you are pointing or your finger?

Maia is one of my first who looks where I am pointing verses my finger pointing at something! She is only 15 months and is so savvy!

My cats are very un-savvy: they are extremely stubborn in their notion that the thing you wanted their attention on is always your finger, not the spider you'd like them to kill for you!

They always follow my finger, and if I act like I threw something they'll look in the supposed direction but no... sadly, they wouldn't kill a spider for me either :p

Well I just tried it.
Elliott looked where I pointed, Gracie looked at my finger...or at least I think she did, she's cross eyed so it's not always easy to tell just what she's looking at
and Annabelle just looked at me like I was from Mars!

Kitty only does it when I`m pointing at his food bowl. If something involves food he can do anything

One's a diehard dope and only ever sees my finger, another's a lot smarter and looks ahead, the third ... I never do it with, doesn't seem to be a need.

No, and as a matter of fact - Beandip often looks at my hand (holding a laser pointer), rather than following the fascinating red dot on the floor!

Our cat Enzo does, but only because he is a FREAK about squirrels, birds, yarn, etc. We usually point at those things so he gets really excited when we point and is interested in what we are pointing at. It works when we point at other things but sometimes he's dissapointed if the object is "boring." Cats are such funny creatures!

Umm I gave up on the spider thing. Last spider that Leopold killed cost me $165 in vet bills and meds.
Thankfully he's fine now. I wonder if he learned his lesson.

And no, he doesn't follow my finger either.

EEEEKKKKKKKK!I hate spiders! I mean really really have a phobia of them! Maia loves to chase bugs, especially flying bugs! Sometimes we do it together and I can call her over and point wherever it is, she looks where I am pointing! But spiders, forget it, I am usually
out so much if I see one that she is worried about me, not the spider!

Yeah, as far as the "finger pointing" goes, the tables were turned on that incident. He pointed it out to me. Unfortunately I was too slow and he tried to eat it
but it bit him.

I do point out moths though. That usually works. The cats are good little exterminators for those.

Twitch, Lily, & Dory all sniff the tip of my finger.

Ophelia thinks I'm gonna kill her & attacks my finger(mental note, don't try pointing near Ophelia again).

Molly rubbed her head on my finger.

And Damita, well, she can't see, so yeah.....

Under a stack of blueberry waffles.
Pudge not only looks, she goes to investigate and if she wants to be petted at the time, she looks from my finger to where I'm pointing (frantically) and meows at me confusedly, rubs on my hand, looks frantically, etc for a bit before going.

Typhus, in her obvious goal to have smaller cats orbiting her against their will sniffs my finger frantically, runs excitedly to her foodbowl, and meows at me as if I've crushed her dreams into a fine (empty) ceramic powder.
