Have you tried soaking them in fingernail polish remover? Always worked for me!

As babyharley said, just make sure it's got Acetone in the polish remover.

Don't break them off! I tried the polish remover and was inpatient and ripped, snapped, bit them off. Messed up my natural nails

Yeah don't do that, its very painful and could rip off your natural nail
I tried that on just one of my nails and I soaked them in the polish remover and it worked very well

there is a nail polish remover that all the stores sell that's made especially for fake nails- you put one finger at a time in the tub and turn it around a few times to loosen the fake nail up. it should take them off fairly easily without damaging your real nail

ya I think the finger nail polish remover I have has no aceton
But I have bitten them off before, its just that they wont budge
I was going to get them re done, but with my mom in the hospital, catching up on school work, and making sure the house and kitties are in great shape, I have no time or money
but I have made it to 5 being off.....

And they have damaged my nails before, but I actually have all these neat files that help with that and then mad nail polish that I hardly wear
But my nails dont seem all that damaged so I hope they stay tht way
See the place I go to, the nails stay on for such a loooong time, and well my nail was half way growing back

Time to find the nail files that the kits had hid, goodness that can take hours

I also heard that you could put your hand in warm/hot water and soak it there and then it softens up the nails and everything, but idk if i believe that because well I take looong showers and the water is HOT lol!

Thanx everyone...imma go recheck that nail polish remover though

Yes use the nail polish. If you are getting impatient, what worked for me was slowly pushing between the real nail and fake nail when you've soaked it, and that will seperate them, instead of just pulling them off

This is what I do, but it feels so gross to me...I keep waiting for it to hurt, but it never does. I hate having paper-thin nails afterward--that's why I haven't had mine done in a long time.
A friend of mine has her nails filled-in twice a month. Honestly, its been years since I've seen her without nails--maybe since she had her baby almost 4 years ago. I wonder if her nails even grow now?

I found this really good buffer from Kmart. It has a very fine buffer on one side, and then a polisher on the other. I get rid of all the ridges and chips and things, then i polish my nails., it looks and feels like ive put clear nail polish on. It has made my nails really strong because i am prone to breakage and flaking.

My best friend's sister is a nail tech. ACETONE, ACETONE, ACETONE and use a file to help get them off even easier. DO NOT rip, bite or peel them off on their own as you will damage your natural nail and nail bed.

The best thing for removing artificial nails is pure acetone. You can get it at any Sally Beauty store or beauty supply store. Put it into a small GLASS bowl and soak your nail tips. Gently rub with a cloth, continue until fully removed. Don't pick or peel off the artificial nails, as you can damage your own nail beds by doing that (been there, done that!) and it won't heal correctly and you will grow damaged nails from that point on.

I was a nail tech for 5 years. Here is what we did, it sounds weird but works in about an hour. Get PURE acetone completely soak a couple of coton balls, enough for each finger. Place the cotton balls on each nail and wrap each one in aluminunm(sp) foil. The heat from your body makes the acstone work faster. Remember to keep your hands pointed down or the acetone will run out from under the foil. Check them every 20 minutes. Some nails will come off faster than others. If done corectly when you fully remove the foil and cotton all you will need to do is buff off any remainig residue. It works to soak then in a bowl but it takes longer. You can buy an acetone heater to but thats waste of money if you are only going to use it once. The key is to get the acetone a little warm but DO NOT HEAT IT in the microwave or on the stove, acetone is HIGHLY flameable that is why the foil works. Your own body heat is the heat soarce.

hehehe, I have a 7 sided one
I used that right away whenever I was taking them off last night, and it worked like a charm, well it always works like a charm, I just love that nail file
I carry it in my purse, along with another one

Everyone had such great ideas, I managed to get a total of 8 off last night, and well I only have the thumbs left
But it doesnt bother me that much, I have to admit I LOVE getting my nails done, but they were halfway grown out and everything and getting way to long, and well I got so much stuff to do, and things to open since my mom is home, I figured I would get them taken off, that and right now I dont have the money to go get them filled!!! I put on my nail growth stuff thouhg, and also nail hardner and stregnthner right after I buffed it of course
