Ever since the late 1990's, I've wanted to write a book on my city, Moose Jaw. The thing is, there's already a lot of books about the city and I don't want to be repeating what the other books have said. I already have a bunch of stuff I've wrote on the city, including UFO sightings, so it's not like I don't have any material. I can't think of what to write on either.. some books already done: general history of the city, the early years of the city, a photo history, 1954 crash, arts and culture, murders and other deaths. I had an idea of printing out newspaper clippings from the archives but I don't know how that would go.

I'm just... really wanting to write something (that people will read) about this fine city but I can't think of much!

Is there someway you can find stories about ordinary people from the newspaper clippings? Something that would tie events to the every day lives?

Yeah. Only one story comes to mind--in December 1980, a house exploded here in town. My dad was around the corner from the house when it exploded and remembers seeing a pair of pants and a broken guitar stuck in a tree. Good idea, thanks! I'll probably expand with that idea and get to the archives.
