Adobe Photoshop $$$$

I was thinking of getting Adobe Photoshop for my computer, but how much are people paying for it? and which version?

With academic discount pricing, I've seen:
Adobe Photoshop CS3 for $289
Adobe Illustrator for $190

I want to try to make a siggy, but I can't splurge on these programs now...

That is good pricing, I wish I could get an academic discount. I paid A LOT more than that for mine.

Photoshop Elements or PaintShopPro are both much cheaper and still very good for making siggies

Really, unless you are going to use Photoshop for professional graphics designing, I wouldn't advocate spending a ton of money on it. Photoshop Elements does *almost* the same things, but runs for under $100.
