Ok, now that summer season is upon us, the question for the ladies out there is what do you do with your legs.

shave, wax, what is your way to deal with the hair that is there? Do you just leave it, or do you like a hair free leg?

I shave at least once a week in the summer. In the winter I'll let it grow almost too long.

nothing really works for me

I have thick dark and fast growing hair, and very fair skin. Shaving isn't an option (I'd have to shave every day... and it'd still be itchy most of the time). So I usually just go with the electric hair removal thing (that pulls the hair out) and sometimes waxing.

even then, I get a lot of hair that ends up growing under the skin, but that's still the best I can do so far.

Some day maybe I'll splurge and get laser hair removal.

I have grossly hairy legs (thick, dark, fast-growing hair ... alas), so I shave almost every day. *sigh* Fortunately my skin doesn't dry out or get itchy (or red and blotchy) from my frequent shaving; it'd be really noticeable on me, because I'm almost freakishly pale.

Speaking of being pale ... I don't tan, either. (I will briefly turn a vivid shade of pink after sun exposure, but it heals quickly and then I go back to being very, very white.) I'm considering sunless tanners, but don't want to turn orange. Any recommendations? Or should I just try telling everyone that pale is the new tan?

Hey - give me back my legs....goodness that sounds exactly like my legs - I think I blinded someone on the bus to day with my shiny, freshly shaved legs in a skort! I tend not to tan well either, but can't see wasting money on tanners. So what - people will just have to wear sunglasses to look at my legs.

I like to wax other parts of my body, but since you can only do it every 3 to 5 weeks, its not an option for legs in summer. I'd have to let it grow so long it would be indecent. So, it shaving for me. Every now and then I try some dipilitator cream like Nair or something.

For tanning, I do Mystic Tan. Most tanning salons have them now. Its liquid self tanner, but you just go stand in a shower thing to have it put on. Its soooo much easier than trying to use the creams yourself. You don't have to worry about lines, getting it even between your face/body, or getting those hard to reach (middle of the back) areas. In Oregon, its about $10 a pop, and lasts for 3 to 5 days depending on how frequently you are showering.

I don't have any hair on my legs at all so no problem. I would however like the secret to tanning my legs - they are so white.

I'm very overweight, so I don't show mine off often. But my are very white and during the summer I shave about once every 3 or 4 days I'd guess. The hair on my legs is blonde, so I don't worry too much.

I shave every time I take a shower and apply Loreal self-tanning lotion once or twice a week. A tube is about $8.00 and it lasts at LEAST 2 weeks.

My legs are the one part of me that remains SLIM!
So I wear a lot of crop pants and broomstick skirts in the summer, which also makes a huge difference in keeping cool. I've tried waxing, and I hate it -- for me, it causes inflammation and irritation to the follicles that lingers for months!

So twice a week, I scrub with bodywash and a showerglove, slather on a nice shave gel for sensitive skin, and shave slowly and carefully with a triple blade disposable. Then I rinse off and apply lots of Burt's Bees "Baby Bee Buttermilk" lotion, a wonderful moisturizer that's great for sensitive skin.

And Mirinae -- well put! As far as I'm concerned, pale IS the new tan!

Neutrogena has amazing sunless tanners..I use them cuz I turn orange from diff stuff or my ultimate favorite which is a gradual process and turns really out really nice because you can stop applying everyday once you hit the perfect complextion you want. Jergens Natural Glow. It just basically gives you a healthy look, and I also use the facial lotion. Its amazing stuff especially for the summer...

I shave every few days in the summer. Right now I have the venus breeze razor and I have used it once and did not like it at all. Once I have used the 2 blades from that, I think I am going back to my plain old blue venus razor.

I sorta cheat, I almost never wear shorts, just capris, so I only shave the bottom half of my calves
but then again I don't have that much hair above that point anyway
I'm like Jenney though, in the winter, I NEVER shave. I'm pale, but not white, i have that "yellow" skin tone, so even though my legs haven't seen the sun in probably a good 3 years, I'm never white
