Wisdom teeth were perfictly well suited to the life of early man, think 20,000 years before christ and even further back. In the fozalized Homonid skulls they all have wisdom teeth, it was useful for eating wild roots and toughj prehistoric food. Scientists say in another 10,000 yearts wisdom teeth will become a thing of the past as our jaws are shrinking and our brains are growing. But now in the day and age it useally is true that if you leave them in long enough and they are infected badly enough they can kill you, ve brain infection jaw infection, in the days before dentists people used to go mad from the sheer pain kinds of like rabies before the shots.

See if your family members can give you the money needed, quick.

Mine are coming in fine, my upper ones are okay, the bottom ones are so so.

I have NEVER heard that they can kill you and I just finished Dental Assisting school. You would think the oral surgeon would have said that.......
The reason you need them out is becauase they will start to mess you the position of your other teeth. Yes they can get infected but not enough to kill you. And I don't think Kenz is in the posititon to have them out immediately. I have had problems with mine for 2 years and haven't had them out due to money.

Thanks Courtney- I've never heard that either, and I think my Dentist would have told me that when I called him yesterday- or 2 years ago when my other 2 came in

I don't need all 4 of them out- just one. I'm going to get it done when I go back home next, as I cannot find a dentist in my area that can do it- they all suck and are meanies apparently

Any infection if left untreated long enough can kill you if it gets bad enough to cause shock and organ failure. This is called sepsis, and one reason why antibiotics are prescribed (as well as to prevent bone infections - which can also spread and become quite serious).
Of course the teeth themselves can't kill you, Panther pride was referring to infection.

I was saying that if your teeth were bad enough that the dentist would tell you if you needed to get them out soon....

Provided that the person went to a dentist or could afford to. Unbelievably some people leave it.

I'm not just leaving it. I can't get to a dentist here where I live for 3-4 months with the insurance that I have. So I have to wait til I get home (next week) to see my dentist. Until then he's given me an antibiotic in case it is an infection, and something for the pain, if its just the tooth coming in. He can't tell me for sure since he can't see my mouth from 2 hrs away. So right how he's treating me for both- just to be safe, until I can actually see someone.

How are you feeling tonight Kenzie? Are the medications helping at all? I was thinking about you today! I hope you are able to get this taken care of soon!
(also- don't worry too much about the surgery - i had all 4 of mine out when i was 15 (almost 16) and had no problems!
)

no problem hon!!! i hope you get to feeling better soon!
you will feel a lot better when that tooth is out. also a bit of a suggestion- try and see if you can get all 4 out at the same time to save yourself the trouble of having to go back later on for multiple surgeries/ paying more money for more x-rays consults/etc. i had all 4 of mine out at the same time. it wasn't bad at all!

I know, my other ones are coming in fine, so we'll have to see what happens, and when I can get that one out thats bothering me so bad right now. Its just crazy how one little tooth can cause so much pain!

Today I found out that when I use my electric tooth brush, that if I just set it back there on that tooth for about 5 minutes, it makes it feel soooo much better! I also got a cotton ball full of mouthwash and set it back there for awhile and that really helped too. Thats what my dentist reccomended to try just to keep it really clean and help any further infection from happening.
Right now, I
my toothbrush

that's great that you've found a few things that are helping!! you might try swishing a little warm salt water in your mouth as well to soothe it

Many people also leave things...because A)they can not afford them and cant be seen...or

They are deathly afraid of the dentist..

I myself..go into a fit of a panic attack..even getting near the dentist office.

How's the pain today? Hopefully your antibiotics are doing well and making things all better.
