After reading the comments last night, I watched thinking I would be able to at least prefer one over the other, but I just couldn't make myself care for either. Blake actually gives me the creeps. (I think he might be Pat Boone's great grandson) And Jordin sang well, but her theatrics are sometimes so staged that it is painful to watch. I think it was her first song....the wisp of hair she kept fiddling with and that part where she grabs her head. Oh man, the angst.... I only watched the first two songs for each, cause that was all I could take. Based on voice talent alone, of the two, I thought she deserved to win.
I see they're having a new show for groups. That might be interesting. Or not.

omg bette midler was horrible i had to change the channel it was that bad. as randy jackson would say...it was a little pitchy...lol..i wasnt happy jordin won i was really rooting for blake but then again im still mad about last season with chris daughtry..but now look at him..amazing!

Wow, did Bette Midler BLOW...wow...I still can't get over how bad she was. I told my wife that she sounded like a Kareoke version of herself. That's the thing I get tired of, is when celebs come on the show, and the contestants mop the floor with them (to steal a phrase from Simon).
We knew Jordon was going to win, and good for her. Blake will be good on his own, I'm sure of it.
Oh and before I forget, someone mentioned Blake creeping them out? I like Taylor but his first tune, the dancing was creepy *lol* I voted for him last year and I like him, but I was actually watching it thinking "He won?" It just seems odd sometimes. I think now it probably should have been Elliott.

I simply could NOT get into AI at all this year. I tried. I watched a couple shows and not one of the contestants peaked my interest.
From what I did see, Jordin was definitely the better of the two vocally, and deserved to win.
I don't know if it's all VFTW or what, but after Chris got voted off so early (I still think he should have won, especially considering how much more talented he is compared to Taylor
), and this year with Melinda... I just have a real hard time taking this show even slightly seriously. At least Jordin has *some* talent, but I sure don't think she's going to be a Kelly Clarkson or Carrie Underwood.

I didn't see her on AI, but in some recent pictures of Kelly Clarkson I saw she was not looking so hot. Definitely looking a tad chunky.
Chris D's eyeliner reminded me of Cap'n Jack. He'd make a great pirate, don't ya think? And I was thinking that he probably got voted off in part because his attitude was not so....what's the word...uhm....enthusiastic? perky? juvenile? Maybe you know what I mean and can say it better.
I wish they'd replace Paula next year, as she never has anything to say worthwhile to the contestants anyway. Maybe they could do a guest swap for Sharon one week, then Paula and Hasselhoff could be pathetic together.

Well, I guess I'm glad that Jordin won since Blake drove me crazy with all those little extra sounds he threw into his "singing."
I agree with you guys about Bette. It hurt my ears to hear a beautiful song that she used to sing incredibly sound so bad. Maybe they should be lipsynching to their recordings. There have been some pretty awful "professional" appearances. Good thing they didn't need AI to get their recording contracts. They never would have made it.
