2 items in the past 2 days in our newspaper.

Yesterday, an article about an RSPCA worker in another state who was suspended from work for a week and a half and DEMOTED (with a $150 a week pay cut) because she found a home for a young burmese kitten right before it was about to be euthanased... because apparently what she did was a "breach of RSPCA guidelines stating young strays must be euthanased".

Today, an item about a woman who was in heavy traffic, saw someone in a car up ahead drop something out of the window - as she approached she saw it was a kitten, and managed to avoid it, but in the rear vision mirror, saw that unfortunately the car behind her didn't.

What is wrong with people??

WHAT!!!!!!!!!! They suspended someone just cos they found a home for a poor stray kitten. That just outrages me! Which is better? A dead kitten or an alive, happy kitten with a good home? That is so darn ridiculous! Why cant they get their priorities straight?!
I dont blame you for feeling so mad. Im feeling mad now.

I read some negative comments about the RSPCA in Australia in another thread that was posted here a couple of months ago...they must be really strange. They should be PLEASED that this kitten has an opportunity to have a good life in a new home, not PISSED OFF!

What kind of an IDIOT would throw a poor little kitten out of a car window in heavy traffic?!?!?!
I hope the kitten died instantly and didn't suffer at all after the other car couldn't avoid hitting it!!!

A lot of people in this world are sick and worthless, lets just face it. I really don't care much for this place we live in.

I posted several days ago about a cat I saw in Petsmart. My head tells me I just can't have another one just now, but you know how that goes. I found out he, Rex, was rescued from within hours of being euthanized. I saw that he was not there, I had hoped he had been adopted. When speaking to my cashier, she said that he had been having some tummy troubles, nothing serious, so she took him home to foster him for awhile, maybe permanently if it works out. She is a really nice lady, she would give him a great home. She is the rescue coordinator between the local charities and the store. I just love a happy ending!

How ridiculous!!!! Isn't the WHOLE POINT of the RSPCA to be a RESCUE ORGANISATION!?!?!?!?!? Not a "how dare you rehome that needy cat - we were just about to kill it!" organisation1?! Grr sorry but that really makes me mad...

And as for the jerk that threw the cat from the window..... what can you say??? Its beyond words for me...

Nothing makes me more sad and angry than this sort of thing. the sooner mankind grows up the sooner the world will be better off.

Someone once said the world is a terrible place. In fact the world is a beautiful place, it's just the people in it that are terrible.

The RSPCA in the UK also have a definite 'if it can't be rehomed, euthanize it' policy. That's why I don't have a lot of time for them. Rolf Harris sure doesn't mention it when he's doing his Animal Hospital thang does he?!

As for the cat out of the car thing - well that makes me sick to my stomach.

I hate the RSPCA here in the UK. We got Suki from them and she came with fleas, worms, ticks and gingervitis, we also suspect that the woman who looked after her hit her alot. We will get another cat from them if only to rescue it from that horrible place.

Ooh! I didn't realise the RSPCA put down any animals, except for ones with serious behavioural problems or very sick ones. My cats have always come from the RSPCA and have always been healthy and socialised. My local RSPCA foster woman always is on hand to help with any issues, offers advice, and offers a return policy if the new cat isn't fitting in etc. She is a wonder - if you bump into her in the street she always asks after the cats she has homed with you and even remembers the names she gave them (I'm sorry but Alfredo just was not a Sidney). Maybe it is different at the large shelters. Maybe my Xmas donation will be going to another animal charidee....

I send money into the PDSA and give donations of CDs to the local shelter for them to sell in their shops.

I can't believe that someone got demoted for helping to rescue and house a poor kitty!!!

And to throw a cat out of a car window!
What the hell were they thinking?!?!?!
