I found out about a month ago that I didn't get the job that I had been doing for 2 years. So officially my contract ends on May 30th. I do not have any prospects and will not be going on to somthing bigger and better.

Work is now insisting on having a going away BBQ for me
I can't fathom what they are thinking I DON'T WANT TO LEAVE. I AM BEING TOSSED OUT ON MY ASS!

I am begining to think I souldn't even come in on my last day, I would rather chew my own foot off than socialise with a bunch of people who don't want to work with me.

The girl that got my job promptly resigned after 3 weeks and they gave my job to a summer student with absolutely no training or experiance in the field so I feel compleetly degraded and useless. I have been relegated to a corner office that if I left no one would know I was gone. I have had 2 people talk to me all day and no one knows the answers to any of my questions about a new project I was put on today. I think they are trying to make me feel like an imbicile. GOD I NEED A DRINK!!

Here you go I'll have a drink with you! Things will get better, trust me. Everything in life happens for a reason. They are just jerks anyways it sounds like.... You'll come across something bigger and better

That sucks,

I would thank them kindly for the offer of the BBQ, but say that based on the situation, you don't feel that it is appropriate.

Talk about mixed messages.

Send them all an email of you giving them the finger or mooning them. Send it at 4:59 pm on your last day.
