Hi, I'm new here. I'm just trying to get this kitten's story out. She really needs a home soon. Please take the time to read this. I'm sorry it's so long.

We found a kitten in a ditch last week on the way outta town. She was covered in flies and ants. We thought she was dead b/c there were so many flies on her. All you could see was her head! She smelt horrible and had a bunch of yellow stuff all in her fur. We thought it was food or pollen. My brother picked up the kitty. She was near an old sweater,(probably was wrapped in it, so we know she was dropped there. Well, my brother had placed his Ipod on the ground when he went to get the kitten. Forgetting he had put it there, we drove off. After he remembered he left it on the ground, we drove all the way back, and just as we were getting there, a car was making a u-turn! So, we know that they picked up his I Pod! He's so upset right now, but happy that the kitten is out of that ditch. So, we decided to name her IPOD. Anyways, she was COVERED in fleas! They were crawling all over her face. We gave her a bath and the next day brought her to the vet. The vet told us that it wasn't food or pollen on the kitty. It was FLY EGGS!
She also had maggots on her rear area. The vet bathed her and sprayed frontline on her. She also gave us some antibiotics to give her twice a day b/c she had a cold. She's doing great right now. Very playful and eating well. I'm trying to get her story out in hopes someone will adopt her. I'd love to keep her, but already have a houseful of animals. This poor kitten has been through so much and I'd love to see her go to a home that will keep her inside, get her vaccinated, spayed, and spoil her rotten. She surely deserves it. I'm trying to find a home asap, b/c I can't afford the vaccinations that she will need. As it is, I had to split the last vet bill between my sister and mom and I still have to bring her back this week to deworm her.

I'm going to ask that this post is moved to SOS since you are trying to find a home for her. I would really recommend that perhaps you try to work with a rescue group to see about placing her as she really should be spayed before going to a new home if possible.

What a sweet kitten you have found. I hope that you are able to find a local no kill shelter that can get her healthy and spay her before they find her a home! Please keep us posted!

we're keeping the Ipod!!!!!!!! Finally got my mom to let us keep him. That's another thing. The vet made a mistake. It's a boy.

So, that makes 3 cats

I know, I just got an email a few days ago from a woman from Lafayette that recently lost their 20yr old cat and was wanting a kitten.
I'm so glad we kept the little guy though. He's so sweet and a nice addition to our large family! The hard part is trying to get my other 2 cats aquainted with him. Theirs a lot of hissing and growling going on, but that's expected. It'll take a little more time. Thanks everyone!

Here's some pictures of Ipod. Another thing, I'm actually thinking of changing his name. We named him that b/c it went well with the story and hoped it would help him get noticed more to get adopted. I have a list of names I like, but want to get my family's input on it.

This is the first time we let him out in the living room. He had a cold and we didn't want him around the rest of the house too much b/c of our other cats. Everytime he'd hear a noise, he'd run to our bookshelf!

This is my little cousin Azzy playing with him.
