hi ,how can you tell if kittens are going to have long hair? thanks

If both parents are longhair all the kittens will be longhair. If not then the shorthaired parent or parents need to carry the longhair gene. If one or both parents are shorthair the kitten or kittens with silky shiny fur will be the ones that turn out to be longhair. That has been my experience in the past anyway. But if the shorthair parent does not carry the longhair gene all kittens will be shorthair. Does this make sense?

Thanks ,mum is 3/4 persian and dad i think is semi-long haired! The kittens seem very silky also i can lift the fur up by about 1/2 inch.thanks for your help.

there on pregnancy forum under daisy pics. you cant really tell on that as they are only one day old on those pics.thanks for your reply
