25 years ago today, my first cat had to be put to sleep, at age 12. My parents got if for me when I was seven. Time goes so fast. He was such a darling. I still remember the first time I saw him, when he popped out of the cardboard box my mom carried him in :-)
It took me time to get over this loss. I cried all summer. At least, he was treated much better than many human beings and had a wonderful life, including whole weekends doing nothing but chasing squirrels, birds and even foxes (!) at our country house, with 20 acres only for him as his private hunting grounds, like kings in the past. Those are nice memories to cherish.
