So I take both cats into the groomers for 'bear cuts.' That is a lion cut with the face rounded off so they grow out more evenly and don't have strange long fuzzy cheeks.

Anyway, as I was petting Rusty I noticed half of his whiskers on his right side are cut off!! The shaver got his face too close.

Is this bad?

They will grow back. But I would say something to the groomer. That should not be a normal thing. Cats whiskers are there for a reason and should never be cut.

Yes mentioned it to the groomer. It might have been accidental; tho the groomer should have mentioned it when you picked him up.

While whiskers serve a purpose, many rexes and sphynx have curly whiskers or no whiskers and they navigate fine
