So I just washed Dozer.. and a chunk of his hair fell out. He's had kind of scabbing which was hard to see for a little while now, but I wasn't sure what to make of it so I was waiting to see what would happen. So... what could this be? It's on his left ear and the left side of his body. It seemed like it was going away but... apparently not.

UPDATE: After doing a little bit of research I suppose the best candidate would be Ringworm. I don't have a blacklight to test, however. Is there anything natural that I could use on a kitten to get rid of it (if it does turn out to be Ringworm?). I would rather not have to go to the vet and unfortunately I doubt that any methods that I used on myself (I was lucky enough to get Ringworm on my neck two years ago from a pet rat that I had) would work on him....

Oh look at that little cutie!. I don't know if it is ring worm. Normally I don't think it scabs. He may have had some type of injury, road rash type of scrapes on that side and now that the scabs are coming off the fur has fallen out too.
I have experienced this type of thing before with cats. Considering how he was rescued this type of senario is pretty likely.

That being said, despite all the fosters I have had, I have never had to deal with ringworm. So I can give you a first hand account, nor tell you what kind of meds to use. I don't think the people cream is safe for kitties. Hopefully someone else who has had ringworm experience will answer.

Try posting in the Healthy and Nutrition forum with a title of "possible ringworm?"
