My cat bites, a lot! She bit her caregiver when I was away, and she often bites me! today when she wanted to sit in my lap and I didn't want her to, she bit me. When she doesn't get her way, she bites! Is there anything I can do, the only thing that seems to work is squirting her with water but it doesn't stop her the next time. calico01

how old is the cat, where did you get her from? she sounds "dominant". just because she's showing signs of domainance though, doesn't mean she isn't just plain insecure and frightened for some reason too. how long have you owned her? a dominant cat will react aggressively, instead of fleeing. the fact that she bit you when you pushed her off your lap makes me believe she is in fact insecure. you mentioned a care-giver. did your schedule change so that you're gone more than usual? do you know/trust that the care-giver would not mistreat the cat for sure? it really could be a lot of things, so it would help to have more information if you care to provide it.....
