The *big* ultrasound

We just had our big ultrasound today - the anatomy ultrasound which is the first real check to make sure everything's where it should be, and everything is measuring fine.

And everything looks good so far! I'm 19 weeks today, and overall the baby's measurements are at 18 weeks, 6 days - so right on target! And she said he weighs approx. 11oz, but the report she gave me said 9oz, so somewhere between that....

The little guy was moving and jumping and was soooo active. Both the ultrasound technician and the doctor commented on how active he was We got to see both legs clearly, his arms, his abdomen, his head and brain, a good look at his face and his little lips (awww!), the kidneys and the coolest thing was his heart! They zoom in on the heart, and you can see all 4 chambers pumping away - I was amazed at how detailed it was considering how small he is! It was cool to watch DH's face during the u/s - he was grinning the entire time and so proud

And the little guy's heart rate is 150bpm which is normal, and we got a really good look at his boy bits... He "mooned" the ultrasound, so she got a pic of that - so we have a pic of his bum, and his little boy bits poking out - there's no doubt to his gender.... I'll scan them and post them up tonight.

There's also no way we wouldn't have picked his gender if we didn't want to know, we could see his little bits a number of times! Daddy is very proud...

It was so cool.

Awwwwwww that is so cute. He wanted to let you all know he was a HE! Congrats and I hope your pregnancy is an easy one.

Isn't the daddy's reaction amazing??? I mean people think of the moms to and yes pregnancy is an amazing thing. But the daddy's reaction to everything is really special as well.

Absolutely! He would love to actually carry the baby if he was able to, he'd love to have that bond. He also said it doesn't seem real to him still, and I laughed and said how much more real can it be, you've seen the pictures, seen him move, and heard his heart beat! But he doesn't feel the little guy kicking inside him every day, and doesn't have the growing belly to remind him constantly, so I can certainly understand!

Oh my!! Well that is just clear as day now, isn't it??

No wonder Dad is so proud!

Awww what a sweetie, and yup! definitely a boy decided on a name yet???

I am glad everything went so well! Tell Daddy to talk to the baby bump - my DH did and both boys recognized his voice right away when they came out!
