Tonight I had a chicken burger and all dressed chips.

I had a rock-hard baguette and wanted to heat it up in the microwave while we were playing Scrabble. I put it on for one minute, 58 seconds and burnt it.
The house smelled like burnt bread for fifteen minutes.

Last night, H took me out for dinner (he does this every Saturday, since I told him that it's my "reward" for cleaning his house, doing his laundry, and cooking for him the rest of the week). We went to a chain, Red Robin, who has great burgers and chocolate milkshakes, which, alas, I can only have a few sips of, as I'm diabetic.

Tonight: Homemade chicken pot-pie with baby carrots, with dill out of my garden. I make big pan of it, and we have it for leftovers during the week. I'll probably make a roast or chili in the Crock-Pot, for the same reason. I hate to do any serious cooking when I come home from work!

Humm i'm not sure what we're having for dinner tonight. I might make spaghetti or something like that. Colin's at work tonight and my best friend is going to come to the shelter with me for an hour (i always go back sunday nights to rewater all the animals and do meds at the shelter) so i think we'll have dinner afterwards.

Late dinner: organic steak, rhutabaga and asparagus. All from the neighbourhood farmer's market. I love spring for these markets!

What's in biscuits and gravy? (this is probably a dumb canadian question). I know what the two are seperatly, of course. Is it like beef stew and warm tea biscuits? Sounds like great comfort food. Do you have a recipe?
