.....any plans for your long weekend?

Just plan on hanging around the house and maybe doing some gardening. It should be lovely weather her in Toronto, sunny but not too warm. What's up for you?

(Aren't I Miss Postie today? I can't seem to stop my posting! )

Heading north to Collingwood to enjoy, hopefully, some sun and suds.

Probably nothing, I'd love to go camping at Buffalo Pound but maybe I can convince my parents to take me fishing up there.

We haven't decided yet. My parents mentioned they might come to visit us and the furkids

Well, we're promised rain for Saturday and Sunday
so likely they'll be pretty lowkey -- haircut tomorrow, before I tear it all out, but that's about it. Monday we're promised sun and warm temps, and we have a dinner invitation, which will probably include some outdoor time. So, exciting weekend? Nope, but quite satisfactory, I expect.

I would love to be on Island this long weekend. You're so lucky.

Come on down!

The only bad part of living on an island is when you want to get OFF the island. By ferry it's pricey and takes about 3.5 hours to the mainland. Planes are quicker but cost lots more. But you are right, it's a beautiful place and we're very fortunate. (Let's not think about tsunamis and earthquakes!)

This summer is going to kill me. *sigh* This is a comparatively quiet weekend for us, and it's definitely not going to be quiet. We have friends and family getting married, other friends having babies, multiple birthdays ... I don't think I'll get a weekend off until September!

Tonight my fiance and I are driving two hours north, in rush hour traffic, into cottage country to spend the evening with my family and celebrate a late Mother's Day. (We're going to Casino Rama to see the Fab Four, a Beatles tribute band.) We're staying overnight.

Tomorrow we have to come back to Guelph for our friends' engagement party. I have no clue what to expect from this, because I've never been to an engagement party before ... I don't even know if you're supposed to buy presents?

I think Sunday and Monday are free ... for now. I'm willing to bet $50 that J's folks call on Sunday wanting to do something, though. (I'd rather not -- we saw them all last weekend!) I was hoping to have a Sopranos marathon to get through Seasons 4 and 5 ...

Yes, absolutely you must bring an engagement gift to the party. I take it you haven't purchased anything yet, so may I suggest a nice bottle of icewine (Peller Estates, out of Niagara on the Lake) makes a fantastic Cabarnet Franc icewine that's amazing. It'll run you about $65, but it's certainly worth the price.
