Okay, so I'm slowly weaning my critters off the Solid Gold tuna b/c they are just plain addicted to it and I don't like that I only feed them this food, especially with all the mercury and ash in tuna. So.....

I am experimenting with a few different types...more specifically...Avoderm Chicken, Cal Natural Chix & Rice, Merrick Thanksgiving Dinner, Grammy's Pot Pie and Turducken.

I'd love for them to be on a rotation of a two or three different types of canned food. Is it okay for them to eat, for example, Grammy's Pot Pie one day and Turducken the next, then Chix & Rice the next? Or will that mess up their little systems? I'm currently mixing some tuna with the new flavors, but I know some of you feed a variety of canned.

How do you do that exactly?

Thanks!

I feed a wide variety of canned. They get canned in the am & pm. I just give it to them & they're fine.
Not very scientific!

i feed a rotation too. i know what they like so our cupboard has varieties of brands they like. i just pull out a can and feed it to them.

mine were getting a meow mix or whiskas fish pouch at night. apparently they are bored of it, so now it's FF before bed.
mine are pretty good at telling me they are bored of something.

yeah. it was a temporary fix after the recalls came out & i ran out of meow mix. but it looks like i'll be donating the rest of this 12-pack to the shelter anyway. they were getting bored with MM when i decided to try the whiskas. this was only our 2nd 12-pack, of which they've only eaten 1 or 2 pouches.

I was wondering the same thing!

I feed mine a variety, and just basically pull a can out of the closet and give it them. I've wondered if I'm doing the right thing, or if I should be sticking to one at least in the same day.

I'm currently giving them Evangers, Natural Balance, Felidae (not too often, I only bought 8 cans to try, and they aren't crazy about it), and Meow Mix Pouches (without wheat gluten). I tried Solid Gold non-tuna and Swanie threw up, so that went out.
