Its hard for VS to always find a good fit for people. I used to work there and did measuring and stuff....Its really hard to find sizes for women who have dramatically diff sized breasts. Those with entire cup size differances end up most times having to buy two bras that are the same but in diff sizes to cut them in half and sew them together to make a good fit. OR go to a specialty store and spend major bucks to get custom made bras. If your having trouble with finding bras check if you have a Value City near you. They actually get an amazing variety of sizes for larger breasted women. You have more trouble finding good ones for smaller sizes. Even tho its basically a discount store but they do have good finds sometimes.

I just can't afford to buy multiple $30 bras at once. I usually end up getting them in ShopKo or JCPenneys for like $15 tops. Otherwise, I'd have to wear the same 2 bras over & over!

Does VS ever have a good bra sale where they go cheaper? Then I might be able to afford them....

I don't mind them for the most part, but they're the first thing that comes off when I get home, sometimes on sundays when I go to my Mom's I don't wear one, but I can't get away with it if I'm going out in public
I also am "just a little" to large to go to VS, and there is no way I am paying that much for a bra anyway, i get mine at Kohl's when they're buy one get one free or something similar
I love Bali bras, and I have to have an underwire for support

The Semi Annual sale is the best time to get stuff on sale but it only happens like 2 times a yr. It should actually be coming up this summer soon. If you are looking for VS bras find a Value City or a discount store near you. VS sends stores like that their last season stuff thats left over so its all great stuff but just not the right season....If bras actually have a season but you know how clothes stores are...Just goofy. Anyways if you look for a store like that you can find great VS bras and other great kinds and end up paying 10 bucks for a good name brand bra...Its pretty nice. If you dont have that option just go to VS and ask them when their Semi Annual sale is

I went braless for YEARS as a size 34B, then quit smoking 3 1/2 years ago and grew these bazonkas, so now I HAVE to wear them. I'm just about popping out of my VS wireless cotton bras, and they do NOT make them in the next size up, so I don't know WHAT I'm going to do now.

If anyone can recommend a 36D or a 38B that is soft cotton, not lined, seamless, and has NO underwiring, PLEASE let me know!!! I'll pay whatever I have to to be COMFORTABLE!!!!
I know you said to tried VS but I do have a recommendation. I always get their Body bra lined full cup. I does have an underwire but the fabric is nice and soft and the underwire is well padded so it's not uncomfortable.

I think shipping for a good bra is like shopping for jeans. Hard to find just the right one but so worth it in the end. The VS Semi-annual sale is a great thing and if you apply for an angels card you get all kinds of great offers.

I think I'll have to go in next time they have a sale and get fitted properly.

Ah yes, The Semi-Annual...I went once, loved it, but it took the Jews less time to get out of the desert that it took me to reach the front of the line. .

But i was thinking more along of the lines, of it would be much better to just let it all hang out, let them breathe free air.

how does that sound

Betsy, try here:

Actually, for any of us bigger girls, I HIGHLY recommend Lane Bryant. I have been getting the cheaper, made-for-little-girls-just-in-larger-sizes, bras for years. I finally went into Lane Bryant because they were having a huge sale, and OMG what a difference! These bras are actually designed FOR bigger ladies (and biggers parts
), so they support what and where they're supposed to, are so much more comfortable, and for the first time in my life, the straps don't slip down my shoulders.
Even Earl said I was "perkier" in the new bras.

I wish I could only pay 30 for mine... seriously... my current one I'm wearing at the moment was about 65. and they only go up from there. If the American bra manufacturers would get a :censor::censor::censor::censor::censor::censor::censor:' clue, and start offering their bras in larger sizes, I could get some at a lower price... but they only go up to DD. I'm larger than that. I'm not HUGE... but I'm not average either...

those of you who are smaller and wear under a DD, consider yourselves lucky... truly.

Amen. The last time I bought bras, I spent over $300 and only got three. They all fit me very well, however, and were very well-made. Of course, I've lost weight since then, but I'm resisting the need to purchase new bras ... I just can't afford them right now! (Despite the weight loss, I'm still an above-average bra size.)

And the crazy thing is, when I bought three bras, they were all different sizes! (I had read a magazine article about how to properly size yourself, took my own measurements, and then when I went into the store I found out that that didn't mean a thing.) It really depends on who the manufacturer is, where the bras are coming from, and what they're made of.

Have you tried the racer back style bras (think that the correct name), you can also get clips that pull the straps together in back.

I live far enough south that "in season" refers to hunting season...
Never heard of Value City, probably don't have them around here.

What I want to know, is no matter what brand or shop has them, why do the As and Bs look cute in most styles and once you get to a C or bigger they just look tacky?

Wires are a necessary evil, I don't like them and I imagine no one else does either. Much like bras themselves.

Thank you for the suggestion, but ANY underwire gives me a bruised ribcage, and I have to wear a demi cup or else my bras show over ny necklines. (I also have issues about anything touching my neck and throat areas, so I can't wear anything unless is is an open neck - I wear a lot of low scoop necks.

I tried on every single VS bra that the sales lady that fitted me brought to me and not one of them was comfortable or fit right. I also have that problem with the left one being a little larger.
And I don't sew AT ALL, so buying two and making one out of them isn't an option for me.

My underwire bras always end up the exact same way: the wire pops out, usually in the front, and I'm left walking around with something that looks like an Alien baby trying to poke its way out of my chest. It's such a sexy look.

Have you tried Frederick's of Hollywood?

I agree. If they make underwire bras, why can't they make it so that the wire actually stays in the material?
